Home improvement scam artists arrested in Lancaster County, police say

Police in Lancaster County have arrested a father and son accused of running home improvement scams in Montgomery County and New Jersey.

Officers took Anthony Andrew Distaulo, 29, and his father, Anthony George Distaulo, 60, into custody at a home in the 1300 block of Turnpike Road in West Donegal Township Monday, state police said.

“They are home improvement scam artists,” said Trooper Richard T. Drum of the Pennsylvania State Police’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit. “They are part of a crew that do what these clowns do every spring, promise to do work, take a deposit and never return and just steal whatever they can.”

He said he released photographs of the pair to LNP to see if any scam victims here recognize them.
